This recording is a continuation of a formal interview with Efim Grigoryevich Skobilitskii. (Part 3 of 4. See MDV 341, MDV 342, and MDV 344) At the beginning of the interview, he answers a series of dialectological questions about the Yiddish language. The conversation then moves to Jewish religious customs, and he recites passages from a Hebrew prayer book. He then talks about his experience in the Red Army during World War II. Afterwards, he discusses professions of family members; specifically his grandfather, who was a rabbi. The tape ends with a series of dialectological questions about the Yiddish language.

He explains how he advanced from the Stalingrad front, through Bryansk, Sandomierz, Austria, Hungary, Germany, all the way to Berlin. After he helped to liberate Berlin, he became the senior lieutenant of the German town Tiefenbach. Skobilitskii continues that he was in charge for two years and his wife joined him there.
